Easy Street update

Dear Readers,

I did it!  I finally got the borders on Bonnie Hunter's Easy Street last night, I had thought I would get them on during the school week, but I came down with a sinus infection that kicked out all my energy.  So I got them on during the football games on Saturday.  I was hoping the blue border would bring out the blue in the quilt, and it did help but not as much as I had hoped.

Thanksgiving is coming!!  And there  is a lot of cooking, cleaning and just general sprucing up to do before it gets here.  Today I have made cornbread and biscuits for stuffing, and still need to grate some fresh coconuts.  Then make a coconut cake.  On a quilting front I need to make the back and attach the zippers.  That should not take too long.  (hopefully!)

I am so thankful for my family, my home, my job with wonderful students that I love and my most importantly, my savior Jesus Christ.  May all of you find the comfort in his arms that I have.

Sew long,

Terry

  1. I so much enjoy keeping up with you here on your blog. I'm glad you got "Easy Street" ready to quilt. So, does that mean you will be doing the mystery quilt this year? And I wonder what for recipe you use for coconut cake? I'm hoping to find a good moist one.

  2. Thanks Julia, I posted my recipe for coconut cake in the recipe tab. It is the same cake for both the caramel and the coconut cake...it is pretty moist. I am planning to do the mystery, but because my family will be in, I will probably be a week behind...but I will catch up when Christmas holidays arrive!
